Privacy Policy
We are very pleased that you have shown interest in RedEdge. Data protection is a high priority for the management of RED EDGE P.C. The use of our website is possible without providing any personal data. However, if you wish to request access to our beta programme or contact us, processing of personal data may become necessary. Where processing is necessary and there is no statutory basis for it, we generally obtain your consent.
The processing of personal data, such as your name, email address or telephone number, is always carried out in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Greek Law 4624/2019 and Greek Law 3471/2006 on electronic communications. With this privacy policy, we inform you of the nature, scope and purpose of the personal data we collect, use and process, and of the rights to which you are entitled.
As the controller, RED EDGE P.C. has implemented technical and organisational measures to ensure the most complete protection of personal data processed through this website. However, internet-based data transmissions may in principle have security gaps, so absolute protection cannot be guaranteed. For this reason, you are free to transmit personal data to us by alternative means, for example by telephone.
1. Definitions
This privacy policy is based on the terms used in the General Data Protection Regulation. It is intended to be legible and understandable for the general public as well as for our customers and business partners. To that end, we first explain the terminology used.
a) Personal data. Any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (“data subject”). An identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data or an online identifier.
b) Data subject. Any identified or identifiable natural person whose personal data is processed by the controller.
c) Processing. Any operation or set of operations performed on personal data, whether or not by automated means, such as collection, recording, organisation, storage, adaptation, retrieval, use, disclosure, restriction, erasure or destruction.
d) Restriction of processing. The marking of stored personal data with the aim of limiting its processing in the future.
e) Profiling. Any form of automated processing of personal data to evaluate certain personal aspects of a natural person, in particular to analyse or predict aspects of that person’s performance at work, economic situation, health, personal preferences, interests, reliability, behaviour, location or movements.
f) Pseudonymisation. The processing of personal data in such a way that it can no longer be attributed to a specific data subject without the use of additional information, provided that this additional information is kept separately and protected by technical and organisational measures.
g) Controller. The natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body which, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data.
h) Processor. A natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body which processes personal data on behalf of the controller.
i) Recipient. A natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body to which personal data is disclosed, whether a third party or not.
j) Third party. A natural or legal person, public authority, agency or body other than the data subject, the controller, the processor and the persons who, under the direct authority of the controller or processor, are authorised to process personal data.
k) Consent. Any freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous indication of the data subject’s wishes by which they, by a statement or by a clear affirmative action, signify agreement to the processing of personal data relating to them.

3. Cookies
The RedEdge website uses cookies. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device by your internet browser.
We use two categories of cookies. Strictly necessary cookies are required for the website to function; the only one we set records your cookie choice, so that we do not ask again on every page. It is set on the basis of our legitimate interest in remembering your choice (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, being strictly necessary, does not require your consent. Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the website so that we can improve its content and structure. They are set only after you select “Allow analytics” in the cookie banner shown on your first visit; until then, no analytics code is loaded at all.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Category | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|---|
re_consent |
RedEdge | Remembers whether you allowed or declined analytics, and when | Strictly necessary | 6 months |
_ga |
Google Analytics | Distinguishes visitors | Analytics (only with consent) | 13 months |
_ga_<ID> |
Google Analytics | Keeps session state | Analytics (only with consent) | 13 months |
__Host-re_admin |
RedEdge | Keeps RedEdge staff signed in to the news editor; never set for visitors | Strictly necessary | 12 hours |
You may withdraw or change your consent at any time through the “Cookie settings” button in the footer of every page. Withdrawing deletes the analytics cookies listed above. You may also prevent the setting of cookies through the settings of your internet browser, and delete cookies that have already been set. Declining analytics cookies has no effect on the use of the website.
4. Collection of general data and information
Each time you access the RedEdge website, our hosting provider automatically collects a series of general data and information, which is stored in server log files. This may include (1) the browser type and version, (2) the operating system used, (3) the website from which you reached our site (referrer), (4) the pages accessed on our website, (5) the date and time of access, (6) the internet protocol (IP) address and (7) any similar data that serves to protect against attacks on our information technology systems.
We do not draw conclusions about you from this data. The information is needed to (1) deliver the content of our website correctly, (2) optimise the website, (3) ensure the long-term functionality of our information technology systems and website technology, and (4) provide law enforcement authorities with the information necessary for prosecution in the event of a cyberattack. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Server log data is stored separately from any personal data you provide and is deleted after 14 days, unless it is needed to investigate a specific security incident.
5. Request for beta access
On our website, you can request access to the RedEdge closed beta through a form. The personal data transmitted to us is taken from the form and consists of your name, work email address, affiliation, the role that describes you best, optionally your application domain, and a description of why you would like to join. At the time of submission, we also store the date and time of the request, your IP address and your browser’s user agent. We use the IP address and user agent only to detect and prevent misuse of the form, and we delete them after 30 days.
We use the form data solely to assess your request, to contact you about the beta programme and, if you are selected, to onboard you onto the platform. When you submit the form, we send you an email confirming that we received it; that email does not repeat what you wrote. The legal basis for processing the form data is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, as the processing is necessary for steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract. The legal basis for processing the IP address and user agent is our legitimate interest in protecting the form from abuse under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
6. Contact possibility via the website
Our website contains information that enables quick electronic contact with us, including a general email address. If you contact us by email, the personal data you transmit is stored automatically. We process such data only for the purpose of handling your enquiry and contacting you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR or, where your enquiry concerns a potential contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
7. Data protection provisions about the use of Google Analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service. Google Analytics is loaded only after you select “Allow analytics” in the cookie banner; before that, and if you decline, no data is sent to Google. The operator of Google Analytics is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information about how visitors use our website, such as the pages visited, the time spent on them, the website from which you arrived, your approximate location (country or city) and the type of device and browser used. This information helps us evaluate the use of our website and improve it. IP addresses are not logged or stored by Google Analytics 4. We have disabled Google Signals, advertising features and the sharing of data with Google for its own purposes.
The cookies set by Google Analytics are _ga, which distinguishes unique visitors, and _ga_<ID>, which maintains session state. We have limited both to a lifetime of 13 months. Analytics data is retained for 14 months and then deleted automatically.
The legal basis for this processing is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you may withdraw at any time with effect for the future. Google processes this data on our behalf as a processor. Personal data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States; this transfer is based on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and, additionally, on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. You can also prevent the collection of data by Google Analytics by installing the browser add-on available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Further information is available in Google’s privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
8. Transfer of data to third parties and processors
We do not sell personal data. We transfer personal data to third parties only where this is necessary to provide our services, where you have consented, or where we are legally obliged to do so.
We use the following service providers, which act as processors, are bound by our instructions and have entered into data processing agreements with us in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR:
- Hosting of the website, the beta access form and its data: Hostinger International Ltd., Larnaca, Cyprus. The server is located in Germany.
- Email delivery for beta applications and confirmations: Zoho Corporation B.V., Utrecht, Netherlands.
- Web analytics, only with your consent: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (see section 7).
Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, we ensure an adequate level of protection through an adequacy decision of the European Commission, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, or through Standard Contractual Clauses.
9. Routine erasure and blocking of personal data
We process and store your personal data only for the period necessary to achieve the purpose of storage, or as far as this is required by European or Greek legislation to which we are subject.
If the purpose of storage no longer applies, or if a storage period prescribed by law expires, the personal data is routinely blocked or erased in accordance with legal requirements. Beta access requests are kept for the duration of the beta programme and for up to twelve months after it ends. Records relating to contracts and invoicing are kept for as long as Greek tax and commercial law requires.
10. Rights of the data subject
a) Right of confirmation. You have the right to obtain confirmation from us as to whether or not personal data concerning you is being processed.
b) Right of access. You have the right to obtain, free of charge, information about the personal data stored about you and a copy of that information. This includes the purposes of processing, the categories of data, the recipients, the envisaged storage period, the source of the data where it was not collected from you, and the existence of automated decision-making.
c) Right to rectification. You have the right to obtain, without undue delay, the rectification of inaccurate personal data concerning you and to have incomplete personal data completed.
d) Right to erasure (right to be forgotten). You have the right to obtain the erasure of personal data concerning you without undue delay, where one of the grounds provided in Art. 17 GDPR applies and the processing is not necessary for compliance with a legal obligation or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
e) Right to restriction of processing. You have the right to obtain restriction of processing where one of the conditions in Art. 18 GDPR applies, for example where you contest the accuracy of the data or have objected to its processing.
f) Right to data portability. You have the right to receive the personal data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, and to transmit that data to another controller, where the processing is based on consent or on a contract and is carried out by automated means.
g) Right to object. You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We will then no longer process the personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds. Where personal data is processed for direct marketing purposes, you may object at any time, and we will then no longer process it for those purposes.
h) Automated individual decision-making. We do not use automated decision-making, including profiling, that produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you.
i) Right to withdraw consent. You have the right to withdraw your consent to the processing of personal data at any time. The withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out on the basis of consent before its withdrawal.
j) Right to lodge a complaint. You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Greece, this is the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, Kifisias 1-3, 115 23 Athens, www.dpa.gr.
To exercise any of these rights, you may contact us at any time at contact@rededge.ai. We will respond within one month of receiving your request.
11. Data protection for applications and the application procedure
We collect and process the personal data of applicants for the purpose of handling the application procedure. Applications may be submitted by email to careers@rededge.ai, and processing may also be carried out electronically.
If we conclude an employment contract with an applicant, the transmitted data will be stored for the purpose of processing the employment relationship in compliance with legal requirements. If no employment contract is concluded, the application documents are deleted twelve months after notification of the decision, provided that no other legitimate interests of the controller prevent deletion, or unless the applicant has consented to a longer retention period for future vacancies. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
12. Links to external websites
Our website contains links to external websites, such as LinkedIn. We have no influence over the content of these websites or their compliance with data protection regulations. Once you follow such a link, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.
13. Changes to this privacy policy
We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy so that it always complies with current legal requirements or reflects changes to our services, for example the introduction of new features. The new privacy policy will apply to your next visit.
